Yesterday, 17th February, the second ADCC Trials tournament was held in Zagreb, Croatia and our team did more than well.
CATEGORIES -65.9 kg
In the lightest category the Slovak representatives, namely Nino Ondris and Šimon Klein, showed excellent performances.
Nino won four matches, two of them on submission, and made it to the quarterfinals where he was defeated by experienced ADCC veteran Ashley Williams.
Šimon Klein left the tournament with a 2-1 record, winning both of his matches on submission. Both Slovakian fighters came up against the well-prepared Ashley Williams, who became their obstacle.
Martin Rapčan from Pardubice also made it past the first round. Unfortunately, he succumbed to Fionnbarr Carey on submission in the second round.
Slovakia-based Croatian Patrik Augustinovic also made it past the first round, but lost on points in the second round.
Czech representative Stanislav Rezac dropped out in the first round after losing 0-3 on points.
CATEGORIES -76.9 kg
In one of the most charged categories competed a trio of competitors from SWAG Brno.
The best was Jan Stach, who was seeded straight to the second round. He won his first two matches on inside and outside heel hook. In the eighth round he got another victory 5-0 on points. However, he was finally stopped by John Danaher's ward Oliver Taza, whom Honza lost -1-6 on points after a sympathetic performance.

Petr Mynar started fantastically. He won his first two matches by straight ankle lock, with his first match lasting 16 seconds and the second 10 seconds. In the third round, however, he unfortunately lost on submission.
Michal Travnicek was also seeded for the second round, but unfortunately he was no match for Jakub Najdek of Poland and lost on submission.

CATEGORIES -87.9 kg and -98.9 kg
Originally we were supposed to have three representatives, but unfortunately Viktor Franc did not enter the tournament.
Slovak Patrik Čabelka was not able to beat the German Sven Groten in the first match and lost on points.
Anton Orlov did great in the second heaviest category. Anton reached the quarter-finals with three wins on points, where he lost to Daniel Lader of Spain.
WOMEN
Unfortunately, the girls didn't fare as well. Jemima Ejindu, Linda Stach and Lucie Pudilova lost their matches in the first round. Personal and health reasons eliminated Zuzana Kroulíková, Zdeňka Chmelařová and Slávka Holubjakova before the start of the tournament. Veronika Zajícová got through the first round by winning on walkover, but lost her second match on submission.
